Welcome
The Work
My approach to therapy is built around the belief that growth often comes from facing the things we’d rather avoid. As Albert Camus said, “In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me lay an invincible summer.” I believe we all have that resilience in us, even if it usually shows up at the exact moment we were hoping life might give us a quiet week for once.
I value honesty, authenticity, and saying the thing that actually needs to be said. It’s better to be challenged by the truth than comforted by avoidance. I don’t believe in helping people stay comfortable in patterns that keep them stuck. Therapy should create change, not just provide a weekly place to rehearse the same frustrations.
Life will change, whether we like it or not. Resisting it usually just makes it harder. Part of the work is learning how to face uncertainty, take responsibility, and move through difficult experiences with more clarity and resilience. The challenges we face often shape us most.
The therapeutic relationship is at the centre of the work. Trust, honesty, and openness matter. Together, we focus on action over intention, growth over stagnation, and building a life that feels meaningful, not just manageable.
My work is informed by a range of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Fancy words, but the point is using what actually helps.
Alongside private practice, I provide support services for the NHS, the Probation Service, and local charities, with a focus on individuals, families, and couples. I also work in schools and colleges across Oxfordshire, as well as providing consultation for CAMHS and adult forensic services within the NHS.
I hold advanced training in family therapy, couples counselling, working with young people, anxiety, depression, autism, and ADHD. This allows me to work flexibly and effectively with a wide range of challenges, tailoring therapy to the individual rather than forcing people into a one-size-fits-all approach.
My focus is always on creating a space where you can speak openly, be challenged when needed, and feel properly supported in making lasting change.
